About the team
You'll be part of the core operations team that's architecting how AI-native law firms actually function. This is a tight group of builders who think in systems and execute at speed, working directly with our COO and partnering across product, data, and legal operations. We move fast, think from first principles, and aren't afraid to rebuild things that don't work.
Ideal experience
You've led gamification, behavioral design, performance management, or incentive systems at scale in high-volume knowledge-work settings — consulting, sales ops, marketplaces, customer ops, legal ops, or similar environments where behavior change actually matters. You have a track record of designing OKR and incentive frameworks that move behavior, not just measure it. You understand the psychology of motivation and can translate that into systematic interventions. You're deeply AI-native — comfortable with data systems, behavioral analytics, and working closely with engineers and data scientists to turn insights into action. You're a first-principles thinker who balances behavioral nuance with ruthless metrics orientation. You've seen what works and what doesn't when it comes to changing how smart people work.
About the role
This role owns the design and execution of Manifest's attorney gamification system — the behavioral architecture that turns attorneys into peak performers. You'll translate signals from portal activity, emails, and calls into game mechanics, leaderboards, incentive structures, and real-time feedback loops that drive the right behaviors at the right moments. You'll partner with product, data, and legal ops to make the best attorney behaviors automatic and the right outcomes inevitable. This isn't points-and-badges theater — it's behavioral design plus AI-driven insight to fundamentally reshape how legal work gets done and how performance compounds. You'll be building the operating system that makes high-performance legal work feel natural, rewarding, and sustainable. The system you build will directly impact how thousands of attorneys experience their work and how effectively they serve clients.

You thrive in environments where you're building the plane while flying it. You're comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the challenge of creating something that's never existed before. You have strong opinions about how work should feel but hold them loosely when data suggests otherwise. You're genuinely curious about human behavior and obsessed with making systems that help people perform at their best. You're metrics-driven but not metrics-obsessed — you understand that the best behavioral systems often optimize for leading indicators that traditional performance management misses. You can work effectively with both attorneys and engineers, translating between different mental models and communication styles.
Not for you if
This isn't the role for you if you prefer well-defined processes and clear precedents. If you're looking for a traditional performance management role or want to implement existing gamification platforms rather than building from scratch, you'll be frustrated. If you think attorneys are fundamentally different from other knowledge workers and can't be motivated through systematic interventions, we'll disagree on the basic premise of this role.
